Mount Meru

Mount Meru is Tanzania's second-highest mountain, rising to 4,562 meters (14,967 feet) inside the heart of Arusha National Park. A spectacular active stratovolcano, its caldera features a dramatic ash cone, sheer inner cliffs, and spectacular forest slopes. Trekking Mount Meru is a highly rewarding experience, offering climbers close encounters with wildlife (giraffes, buffaloes, monkeys) on the lower slopes and breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro rising in the east.
